Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve is a multi-award-winning blend (lots of gold medals, appropriately) created by master blender Jim Beveridge to celebrate nearly 200 years of the art of blending. The Gold Label Reserve was relaunched in 2012 as a replacement for the popular Gold Label 18 and is made from whiskies across Speyside, Islay, the Highlands, and Lowlands. Master Blender Jim Beveridge produced Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve, a Gold Medal award-winning blend, to commemorate over 200 years of blending.

The Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve is a light amber gold drink, rich and smooth whisky with flavours of vanilla and dark fruit. This is a great testament to the harmonic partnership of Speyside and Highland whiskies, with a hint of smouldering embers from the West Coast. In 1857, Alexander Walker — Johnnie Walker's eldest son — inherited the store and began improving its selection of single malt Scotch whiskies. Alexander had previously apprenticed with a tea merchant in Glasgow and there, had learned the art of blending tea. Under his stewardship, the House of Walker began blending whisky and bottling it in an iconic, square bottle adorned with a slanted label. This iconic blend includes whiskies from Speyside and the Highlands of Scotland, as well as all other West Coast whiskies.

The Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve falls under the category of blended Scotch whisky. Like other Scotch whisky brands, it has an alcohol content of 40% Alcohol By Volume (ABV) or 80 US Proof. It’s built around a core of single malt whisky from Clynelish, but also features spirit from the likes of Cardhu, Blair Athol, and grain whisky from Cameronbridge, all chosen for their sweet, honeyed qualities. How to enjoy drinking Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve? In a highball glass, combine Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve and crushed ice. Garnish with an orange slice and serve. This whisky can also be enjoyed pure, with a dash of water, or with your favourite mixer. To develop such a diverse blend, their Master Blender searched his cellars for casks that had already matured to the point when their flavours were at their most vibrant.
