About this deal
I've just spent about six hours trying to work out why (when recording with Reaper) the mix in my headphones was in Mono ...I've installed new ASIO drivers, gone through every setting in Windows 7 and Reaper ...you name it, I've done it! Prices valid in stores (all including VAT) until close of business on 2nd November 2023. (Some of these web prices are cheaper than in-store, so please mention that you've seen these offers online.) Thanks to the STELLAR.45 driver, The PRO X range are going to sound excellent in the Studio, plugged into an interface or amplifier – but you can also use them on the go if you plug them into a laptop or a smartphone as they are going to turn up very loud.
Currently, these are unamped. My amp should be delivered tomorrow, and I will give it a try and see if this resolves its self. Could this be the cause? From what I've read around here and other places, this shouldn't cause any damage either.
How do you connect the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO?
Finally I removed the 1/4" adaptor and would you believe it, the problem disappeared! ...STILL with a "no short" across the adaptor with the multimeter! The low mass coil and diaphragm assembly produce a transient performance equalled only by electrostatic earphones, and, in combination with a carefully tailored frequency response, offer a natural and balanced sound.
However, they're not playing stereo sound. Left and right channels are heard at the same volume in both ears. I've tried with several sources to the same result. I can set my source to 100% left or 100% right and I still hear it equally in both ears. The DT 770 PRO is a closed dynamic headphone of exceptional quality at a great price, suitable for demanding professional and audiophile applications. The long-term comfort and accurate performance make the DT 770 PRO excellent monitoring headphones for recording studios, post production, or broadcasting situations. The corresponding models of both product families PRO and Edition are hardly distinguishable in terms of sound, as long as they have the same impedance (e.g. DT 880 Edition / 250 Ohm and DT 880 PRO / 250 Ohm sound the same).
