There were points that I found myself enjoying the story, but I soon got over that because of how ridiculous some of the characters acted- it's insane to believe that characters in their positions (no matter how dramatic the book) would act the way that they did. percent was how many times the author contradicted herself in writing to about the wedding date (I dunno if anyone peeped on that) first it was in a month, then letter it was next weekend then vice versa Okay so in the beginning I really wanted to dnf because there were non consensual scenes but the more you read on the better it gets. Second - I hate when dumb mistakes are made. Wedding scene: Couple exchanging vows..."I (name) take you (name) to be my lawfully wedded (husband/wife) to have and to hold, to love and cherish, blah, blah, blah....until death do us part." The Priest then asks.."Do you (name) take (name) to be your lawfully wedded (husband/wife) to have and to hold, to love and to cherish, blah, blah blah....until death do you part?". WTF...didn't they just say/vow that? If their vows had been personalized, fine, but for the priest to repeat the exact same thing! Just a stupid mistake! The author and the editors must have been sleeping on the job.Mikhail I like. We can expect him to be ruthless caveman because..hello...he's Bravta. I read so many faith summers books and was so happy to hear Eric, Aiden and Lucca appear in this book even though it's a stand-alone book. What a ride! This story has everything: love, betrayal, vengeance, and a twist you'll never see coming. Deceptive vows is well written and fast past. The character development is great and you are really pulling for the both of them to get the happily ever after they both deserve.
